I decorate for Christmas the day after Thanksgiving. While everyone is out shopping Flack Friday deals, I'm up by 5am at HomeDepot picking up fresh garlands and poinsettias. For my home, my parents home and my church. I have a quantity and list in toe and there I am running the aisles to get what I need. All for the half the price!
When it comes to Christmas I try to keep it modern with a touch of rustic. It gives a cozy warm feel to the home. Not pictured is a smaller tree near our tv that is the kids tree, they can put their color ornaments and the and toys. I tell them that its theirs to decorate and the one in the dining room is the family tree.
This year I added a hint of red, I still went with the natural look with a touch of sparkle with crystal and mirrored garlands. Ornaments I'm picky and search for some that speak to us or tell some what of a story about us. This year I found silhouette ornaments from PostMark Studios, I ordered them in advance and they were perfect! love that we'll have those forever.
The hutch I clear everything out and put our Christmas tree town that was passed down to me by my grandma. It's my treasure, I usually lay one of the garlands I find at HomeDepot and dress it with candles on the top.
I'm not a fan of busy stocking so i went with neutral cream colored knit stockings from Target. I found MillionAyres shop on Etsy they have beautiful handmade decor. They have personalized stocking tags, perfect for our stockings!
