I was asked recently by a friend; "how can I throw a small party on a budget in my home"?
I thought of Pink's 5th Birthday party and how I kept it small but still gave her what she asked for a "My Little Pony Party". This whole birthday was purchased on Amazon, yes amazon... oh how I looove me some amazon. I planned it from the comfort of my bed.
We had a total of 8 kids and their moms come to the party. If you know toddlers they want a party every year (eye roll) and every year I was giving both a celebration that for them was fun and exciting but for my husband and I, at the end we were beat! So this small intimate party has been one of my favorites.
When it came to dessert, I ordered from Safeway. I got a small white cake with chocolate inside and purchased the character toys seperatly. I also ordered a dozen basic chocolate cupcakes with white pipping for $8. Final price for both was $23
The linens I rented from a local rental place for $20.
the rainbow backdrop was made by tissue festooning. I ordered the colors and cut the 25' strands into 5' strands and that's how I had created the rainbow of colors.
the light pink cups and dinner plates were purchased from my local dollar tree store.
