FreePass Latino 2018
Yes you heard right Comcast is giving us 1000 hours of FreePass latino! Tell your mom, tia, primos we get two weeks free of entertainment.
Comcast today announced that FreePass Latino, its bicultural viewing event that gives Xfinity TV customers access to English and Spanish titles on X1 and across devices at no additional cost. It will take place October 15-28. During FreePass Latino, all of us customers will have access to more than 1,000 hours of entertainment including movies, TV series, telenovelas and children’s shows.
There are 7 million Hispanic households and Spanish is our language we communicate with but stay connected to our cultures. Spanish has continued to be one of Comcast key strategic pillars as the language has become the predominant non-English language in the United States, spoken by nearly 40 million people.
Think of all the possibilities with FreePass latino, all the shows we love and dream of watching! We can watch entire seasons of popular TV shows such as HBO Latino’s Sr. Ávila, take in blockbuster hits including Marvel’s The Amazing Spiderman and Evil Dead on CineSony, or explore acclaimed films from Latin America such as Cuatro Estaciones en la Habana. The Xfinity Latino Channel, a permanent Latino collection on X1 and a complete entertainment experience for Latinos are examples of how Comcast continues to show its commitment to multilingual Hispanic families.
The bicultural entertainment experience available during Xfinity FreePass Latino also includes:
· Blockbuster films from Latin America and the U.S.
· Hit TV series
· Complete telenovelas
· Music specials
· Kids & Family programming
X1 Bilingual Remote
You may also know about X1’s voice remote, but did you know it understands Spanish as well. The artificial technology behind the remote understands all types of Spanish. When a customer makes a command, the voice platform reaches out to both databases (English and Spanish) simultaneously to deliver the correct result. Comcast makes manual changes to ensure they are capturing the most popular commands and train their AI and machine learning algorithms to continuously improve.
The key part of that is including plenty of multilingual features and content for our customers who speak multiple languages, or for whom English is not their primary language.
